Minneapolis, MN based Upstream Arts is inviting the CdLS community into the virtual world for weekly Live Streaming Zoom classes. As parents of a 28 year old child with CdLS who inspired Upstream Arts’ work and mission, we hope we can bring some play and joy into your homes during these times of disrupted schedules and significant change.

About Upstream Arts:
Upstream Arts uses the power of the creative arts to activate and amplify the voice and choice of individuals with disabilities. We integrate individuals with cognitive, developmental, emotional, behavioral, and physical disabilities into quality arts programming. Our programs are led by teams of professional artists who have been trained to teach to individuals of all abilities.

What you will need to join a virtual Upstream Arts class:
● internet access
● computer, tablet or phone, webcam and sound capability

Our Live Streaming classes give space for small groups of participants to meet up in a Zoom classroom with two Upstream Arts teaching artists to enjoy group collaboration, creation and play. Since 2006, Upstream Arts has worked with the disability community at adult day programs and in schools throughout the State of MN, WI, IL and NC. And now we’re finding our place in the virtual world, and invite you to join us for a weekly 1- hour experience as we continue our practice, virtually. In each live streaming class, Teaching Artists will lead interactive theatre, dance, music, visual arts, and poetry activities – designed to build social/emotional and communication skills, while providing opportunities for social engagement, connection, and creative expression.

From May 1-15, Upstream Arts will facilitate free weekly classes for the CdLS Community on:

• FRIDAYS from 10-11 am (CT) — REGISTER HERE
• ASL and Closed Captioning available.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in the virtual world.
