Asmita Mistry, M.A. CCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathologist, is currently a doctoral student at Kean University in New Jersey. She is conducting a survey study on selective mutism in individuals aged 4 to 25 years. Selective mutism is characterized by the inability to speak in some situations (e.g. at school; in the community) while being able to speak comfortably in other situations (e.g. at home; with family).

She is interested in speaking to speech-language pathologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, researchers, counselors, social workers, educators, or any other related fields. She would like to learn about your experiences with the evaluation and treatment of selective mutism for your clients/patients. Please click on this link to complete the survey. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

At the end of the survey, you will have an option to participate in a one-to-one interview with the researcher. Please indicate “Yes” if you would be interested in sharing further information. Thank you for your time and consideration.
