Throughout the month of October, Cornerstone Artisanal Pizza & Craft Beer (110 Brewery Lane, Portsmouth, NH) will be joining forces with Tabitha McElroy to raise funds and awareness for the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) Foundation. The menu will have a specialty purple cocktail called “Luke’s drink” which honors Luke Lyons, a local of Portsmouth and a child with CdLS – proceeds from the drink will go directly to Tabitha’s fundraiser. The wait staff will also be asking guests if they would like to add a donation to their tab and portions of every Liars Bench Beer sold will also be donated. There will a launch party on October 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Cornerstone.

Tabitha contacted the CdLS Foundation earlier in the year and asked to be a part of Team CdLS and run at the TCS New York Marathon. Team CdLS is a fundraising program for runners who take on the challenge to better the lives of people with the syndrome – many of whom struggle to talk, eat and walk. Tabitha shares, “I am running for the CdLS Foundation at the NYC Marathon, but also running keeps my spirit and body healthy when my life is most chaotic. And, as with anything I do, I can only do something well when there is something benefiting someone other than myself. Additionally, Karen, Pat and their son, Luke, are family friends of ours and supporting them matters to me and my family. Not to mention, Luke’s a charmer … who can say no to him!”

Patrick Patterson, Manager for Cornerstone, explains, “At Cornerstone, it’s more than selling pizza and beer. We use our restaurant as a community platform to support those who make it possible for us to be here. It’s part of our mission to support the community that supports us. All salaried employees are required to do community service projects throughout the year. We are excited and ready to raise awareness about CdLS!”
