The Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation (CdLS) will benefit from a Color Run fundraiser next month hosted by the Science Outreach Club at Eckerd College.

The Eckerd College Science Outreach Club recently established a Students for Rare chapter affiliated with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD.) Their mission is to raise awareness about rare diseases and advocate for equitable access to healthcare for individuals within the rare disease community.

Madi McCune, a senior and member of the Science Outreach Club (SOC), chose the CdLS Foundation because Madi did a research project through Harvard Medical School this past summer at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Center for Genomic Medicine.

“We are extremely excited to host this event and would like to thank Lisa Schroeder and the rest of the CdLS Foundation staff and community for their help in making this event possible,” McCune said.

The Color Run will take place at the Eckerd College Campus GO Pavilion on Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m. It will be a 1.5-mile walk/run.
