Strabismus Surgery

My daughter was diagnosed with strabismus. Can this cause her migraines? We have been sent to a pediatric eye doctor for a second opinion on what to do. This condition has just been apparent the last few months. Our daughter is 31 years old. Do they usually do operations at that age?

Strabismus does not cause migraines. Temporary transient strabismus can be a rare result of migraines. Strabismus surgery can be done at any age. It usually does not improve function or vision but does normalize the appearance. There are many types of strabismus. Migraines can be due to a number of things, all of which are unlikely to be related to CdLS. The most common cause is that it runs in the family. The eyes are often involved in migraine headaches.
