Medication Withdrawal
Question: A withdrawal process of several former medications is currently underway, and cannabidiol has recently been added, with mixed effects so far. It is also important to note that there remains a hypothesis of unidentified pain, despite an extremely comprehensive set of medical investigations. In our effort to establish a coordinated care plan, we would like to have a preventive alternative treatment in mind should fluvoxamine not provide the expected relief. Would it be possible to consider other pharmacological options to target anxiety and impulsivity?
Answer: The approach seems reasonable in this complex case. I don’t see the neuroleptic quetiapine as a potential night-time medication which can help with behaviors, sleep, and specifically anxiety. Would consider that option.
