What causes gas and how can it best be treated?
Air swallowing can cause gas. Some people don’t digest some sugars well and produce gas (like lactose intolerance). Others get gas because they get too many sugars like juice, soda pop, sorbital, candy. Sometimes poor motility can cause more fermentation. Diet manipulations are sometimes useful as is treating the constipation with a non-fermenting product (Miralax, Milk of Magnesium, Senekot).
