EEG (brain wave activity)

nine-year-old son had an EEG done. The EEG revealed that his “brain waves are decreased.” Nothing else was noted. Can you explain what this means?

Decreased amplitude of brain waves on the EEG may be a drug effect, eg, Tegretol. It is a benign finding, not at all uncommon in people with developmental problems. It does not imply seizures.
